Jacques Pépin Donates a Hand-Painted Menu From His Last Supper With Julia Child

World famous French chef Jacques Pépin will receive the first ever Julia Child Award this month. He is a fitting recipient not only because he is an accomplished chef but also because he and Child were friends and collaborators for 45 years. A few weeks before Child's kitchen was dismantled and delivered to the Smithsonian Institution Pépin attended a fundraising dinner at Child's home.
The public will soon see what Pépin meant when he described the dinner as "an embarrassment of riches" because he is marking the occasion of receiving the prestigious award by donating a hand-painted menu from that meal to the Smithsonian.

The menu will be on display in Child's iconic kitchen at the Museum. Below are a couple of photos I took when I was there.
