The Two Halves of This Mural Are 300 Miles Apart

This mural by French-born street artist MTO, titled "The Mediterranean Door,"  represents the arduous journey of immigrants into Europe. It begins in the the Maltese town of Sliema with a painting of a man's back end and legs as he crawls into a hole on the side of a building, and ends 300 miles later in the Italian town of Sapri where he claws his way out of another wall.

MTO is best known for his hyperrealistic, large-scale, black and white portraits.
