Can you imagine playing tennis in a 4.9kg outfit consisting of a body-length undergarment, corset, 2 petticoats, silk dress, straw boater and tennis apron? That's what women entering the Wimbledon Tennis Championships could be expected to wear in the 1800s. Luckily female tennis fashions have changed a lot since then.
