Silica gel is a desiccant that adsorbs and holds up to 40 percent of its weight in moisture. It prevents moisture damage in leather products, electronics, pills, even beef jerky. Don't toss those little silica gel packets that come in many of the things you buy because they have uses you might not have thought of.
Place a few packs:
- With seeds to prevent them from going mouldy
- In a tool box to prevent tools from oxidizing
- In a closet to keep linens dry
- Tape a pack inside a bag of dog food to keep it dry
Use your imagination.
