Carpets for Airports

Do you ever look down at the floor when you're at the airport? Maybe you should because every airport carpet tells a story.

"From Santiago to Sydney, from Bishkek to Boston, the airport carpet sings out its inviolable song, a sign of man's refusal to go drably into that dark night of international travel."

The carpet at Darwin International Airport is adorned with lily pads. Find it on the map and read about it.

There's text on the floor of Auckland Airport, a play on the fact that the words "read" and "tread" differ by only one letter.

I usually fly out of Pearson in Toronto. Could the carpeting be any more boring?
