West African Masquerade

For 20 years Phyllis Galembo has traveled to Nigeria, Brazil, Cuba, Jamaica, and Haiti to photograph the visually stunning costumes worn by traditional priests and priestesses, carnival masqueraders, dancers, and Haitian vodou practitioners.

West African Masquerade is an exhibition of 34 large-scale color photographs created by Phyllis Galembo from 2005 to 2006
