Silent, tree-shaped wind turbines to debut in Paris



Controversy invariably surrounds the construction  of wind turbines on land: they ruin the landscape, take up a lot of space and are unbelievably noisy. But France's NewWind has been developing aesthetically pleasing, tree-shaped turbines meant to run silently within cities, at ground level that might put arguments surrounding wind turbines to rest.

  1. Yeah...., 3.1 Kw with perfect conditions of strong steady wind. i.e. rarely that much.
    And a big price ticket. And a zillion little bearings to fail.
    It's a silly ineffectual thing. Directly heating water with solar, and generating electricity with photovoltaic cells on your roof and south-facing wall makes far more sense.
