Recently I arrived at CDG in Paris and took the RER to a stop that was more than a km from our hotel. I was tired after a trans Atlantic flight but opted to walk rather than hauling my luggage up and down subway stairs. It would have been much less exhausting if I'd had one of these:
This 15-pound, battery-operated, drivable suitcase was invented by Chinese farmer He Liangcai. On a full charge, the suitcase can transport two adults at 12 mph for a distance of up to 37 miles. It also has GPS navigation and a burglar alarm.Of course you'd have to lug a charger around with you and two adults riding double would look a little creepy but it would definitely save wear and tear on the old feet.
