Continuing a tradition which dates back to around 11,000 BC, Nepalese elders in the Kaski district harvest honey from the hives of the world's largest honeybees. They smoke the bees out, stab at the hives to remove the honey then send the honeycombs down hundreds of feet to waiting villagers.
Climate change and a dwindling bee population threaten the honey hunters' way of life. They have turned to tourism as a short-term solution but hordes of tourists are likely to damage the cave walls and the nests.
