St. Paul's Cathedral is planning a commemoration to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the Great War. A unique piece of embroidery crafted by more than 100 recovering men will be displayed. The Cathedral’s Collections Department is seeking direct descendants of the soldiers who were badly injured during the conflicts of WWI. The names of the133 men from the UK and beyond, who worked to create the elaborate altar frontal, used for many years after the War at the high altar, have been revealed.
