The Statue of Liberty's Arm Lived In a NYC Park For Six Years


The creators of the Statue of Liberty exhibited her body parts in NYC and Philadelphia in an effort to drum up funds to finance the statue's completion.  Her arm lived in New York City's Madison Square Park from 1876 to 1882 until enough money was raised to complete the structure and assemble it in its permanent location.
