Ben Schreck’s Maginot Line Frescoes Discovery

The Maginot Line is a defensive wall built by the French between the two world wars, extending from the North Sea to the Mediterranean. The concrete fortifications, obstacles, and weapons installations were designed to defend France against German attack.
Life was hard for soldiers stationed in these dark bunkers and some of the more artistic enlisted men set about making their underground digs more pleasant by creating artworks on the damp walls. Photographer and urban explorer Ben Schreck discovered preserved frescoes inside the Maginot Line.
