California's Best Kept Secret: A Century old Underground Sicilian Garden

Sicilian visionary and self-taught artist/builder Baldassare Forestiere built this underground network of rooms, courtyards and passageways reminiscent of the ancient catacombs in Fresno, California. It served as his home as well as a unique garden of fruit producing trees, shrubs, and vines that thrive in the underground micro-climates with temperature variations of 10 to 30 degrees.
