Zalipie: Poland’s Painted Village

Over a century ago the women of Zalipie in southeastern Poland began to paint their houses with vibrant folk art designs and the village has become a popular tourist attraction. The home of the best-known painter, Felicja Curyłowa, has been opened to the public as the Felicja Curyłowa Farmstead Museum. Every surface  of the farmhouse is painted with colourful designs.
