Medicine Hat College gives aggressive Canada goose pair eight parking spots

When a female goose decided to nest on a median in a parking lot at Medicine Hat College School in Alberta administrators did what any good Canadian might — they set up a massive barricade in a bid to keep students and cars alike away until her eggs hatched. It's been more than a week and they’re still waiting.

  1. I think Goose eggs take 30 to 35 days.

  2. Made my day.
Allowing the geese the space they need to nest and let nature take its course...some people have the right priorities.
We had Canada geese come to our pond every year. The male would run to the part of the, quarter-mile long, driveway that was closest to the female to stand up to every car that dared pass.
We respected them...each generation came back every year.
We knew because they were tagged.

  3. Last week I saw a pair standing by the side of the road when I drove into work each day. They stood on the little strip between the guardrail and the pavement. I thought about herding them to safety but knew that they can be quite vicious at this time of year. Unfortunately on Friday one of them was struck by a car and I regret not having done anything to prevent it.
