The steam engine has a long and illustrious past and vehicles powered by steam were being beta-tested throughout the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Eventually steam power was replaced by the
internal-combustion engine as a means of vehicle propulsion but

I met louis Ross, the man that drove,(and crashed) that steam powered Woggle Bug at Daytona Beach in 1904. In his later years he ran a shop near Boston that repaired steam vehicles.
