The miniature coffins found on Arthur’s Seat

In July, 1836, some boys found 17 tiny coffins containing carved figures in a small cave in an area known as Arthur’s Seat near Edinburgh, Scotland. The coffins appear to have been deposited singly at intervals of many years. The lower ones were in a state of decay while the top coffin looked much more recent. How did they get there and why? Read more about this mystery at A Fortean in the Archives. It's a fascinating story.

Thanks Bruce!
