The Galleria: Milan's Glass Covered Street

Twisted Sifter has posted beautiful photos of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a double arcade in the center of Milan, Italy. The structure is formed by two glass-vaulted arcades intersecting in an octagon covering the street connecting Piazza del Duomo to Piazza della Scala. The 47 metre high structure was built by Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877 and it contains many luxury shops and restaurants.
I have never been to Milan but I would like to go just to see this.
