French choreographer, Luc Petton, has produced Swan, a ballet that uses 9 live swans (6 white and 3 black) performing with 7 ballerinas. The birds were specifically hatched for the show and the dancers helped raise them. This unique experience taught the dancers to move like swans. I heard Petton interviewed on CBC today and was so intrigued I had to search for a video of the ballet.
