A lot of names today are going to feel unfamiliar, confusing, ridiculous, or downright stupid to Grandma.
Personally I think Iris is a lovely name. But Palin, Ranger and True? I'm with grandma on these.

Naming a baby is tricky: will the kid love or hate the name in 20 years? This is something in which being cute is undesirable.
ReplyDeleteMy dad wanted to name me Muriel after my grandmother but my mother put her foot down and they named me Marilyn which was a fad at the time. The only Marilyns I ever meet were also born in the 50s.
