Nag, Nag, Nag, you've got too much stuff on your main page now, and it takes forever to load, even with high speed internet. Anyone who's still on dialup can forget it.
I'd suggest keeping it down to no more than a week's worth of posts per page. It would make coming to your site that much more enjoyable.
I think the biggest issue is the number of embedded videos. It's gotta pull the images and all the other operating features from the YouTube site. I counted 6 embedded videos on the front page.
The next offenders are some of the image byte sizes. Most of the images on the page display at a similar viewing size, but some of them are actually quite large in byte size. If you're hosting the images on your own site, then you should change the resolution of the display image so that it has a small byte size. You can provide links to larger images if somebody wants to look at a higher resolution version. The regular display size probably doesn't need to be any bigger than 50 or 60K.

I've reduced the number of posts to 20 from 30 and removed something from the sidebar. Let me know if this helps.
