Too good to be true

I've always thought Paris is the most beautiful city in the world. Now it appears it's all just a facade.

Great photo. It reminds me a bit of the some of the work in the Geoffrey James exhibit that is currently up at the National Art Gallery.

Wow, a commendation from ousizch, you lucky! This is A-lister spam!

I'm more than a little upset about the facades. What is the thinking behind these?

  5. Hi Pam, I don't know how I let that one by - I get so much of this stuff. Will delete lest someone think I'm desperate for comments. Thanks.
I don't know how often facades are kept when a building is demolished; whenever possible, I'd guess.Fires happen or structural damage that is too expensive to remedy. The rules around demolition are very stringent in Paris and it is not allowed to happen willy nilly.
