The LCBO will announce today that it won't hand out plastic shopping bags once it exhausts existing supplies, the Star has learned. Some stores have already run out. This is a positive move but I must admit that the heavy plastic bags they used were useful for picking up the piles of recycled dog food that Max deposits around the yard.
Customers are being encouraged to bring their own bags or buy a reusable bag. Stores will still provide paper bags or cardboard boxes.
Nacho agrees and feels bad that I may have to purchase those little baggies once the not so free ones (we pay 3 cents per)become unavailable. I guess by doing the math the baggies may be cheaper afterall...
ReplyDeleteI've seen baggies that are biodegradable. Do you know if they easy to find?
