Near-naked sushi servers a little too raw

TORONTO- A downtown Asian restaurant's female executive chef worries the owner's decision to serve sushi atop almost-naked models to spice up its menu for film fest crowds will damage its reputation.

Clothed only in bikini swimwear and banana leaves, a male and female model will lie on the bar like a sexy garnish and have patrons eat sushi off their bodies for a couple of hours several nights during the Toronto International Film Festival.

The mother of all strikes

I feel her pain but I don't see what she hopes to gain by this. She's outside in a tent, therefore not nagging the ungrateful louts, and still buys the groceries - they're probably lovin' it. Many kids are like gorillas, not averse to fouling their own nests and revelling in the funkiness. Some outgrow it, others don't. In my view this woman could benefit from some child management training with an emphasis on laying down clear expectations and following through with consequences.

'I talked to them, I yelled at them, I cried, but ultimately I walked out,' said Roxanne Toussaint, a single mother of three protesting her kids' lax attitude toward chores.
It is especially ironic for a mother who works part-time with a cleaning service.
They eat all of the food, refuse to help around the house and their bedrooms are a mess, she added.
So on Wednesday evening, Toussaint, 36, pitched a tent outside her home, along with a spray-painted sign in front that reads, 'Mom On Strike.'
'Everybody's got a breaking point,' she said. 'And it can be pretty hard handling teens on your own.'
Only a day into her protest and Toussaint's children , 14-year-old Adrian, 10-year-old Charmaine and Kali, 8 , are already feeling the embarrassment their mother has decided to heap on them.
'I don't know any kids who are not embarrassed by their parents,' she said.
