Klara and the Sun is based on the 2021 dystopian science fiction novel by Kazuo Ishiguro. Jenna Ortega plays Klara, a solar-powered humanoid Artificial Friend who shows the capacity to care deeply but can the love we hold as humans be scientifically replicated? It is written and directed by Academy-Award winner Taika Waititi.
