1-800 Happy Birthday is a volunteer project that collects voicemails to honour the lives of victims of police killings and systemic racism. On August 9, 2014, 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. This documentary uses voicemails to celebrate Michael’s 28th birthday
