A man tried to use this scam on me in a mall parking lot yesterday! He said I backed into his car and damaged his door. Luckily three wonderful people saw what happened and stayed with me. They had taken photos of the scene which showed that he deliberately pulled up in the wrong lane behind my car as I was backing out and refused to move until I paid him for extensive damage to his car door although I had not hit him. When he saw that the witnesses were going to wait with me for mall security he eventually left. I did not get the names of the good samaritans but am grateful for their assistance.
Does he expect people to carry that much money on them, especially leaving the mall? Maybe he'd take a check but that's risky unless he has a phony ID to cash it quickly.
ReplyDeletePeople! Get involved if you see things, it may only take a little while to do a big favor, and you'll bask in good karma for weeks.
