Malicious Compliance

Etienne Constable, a resident of Seaside, California, parks his boat in his driveway. When the city government required him to screen the unsightly boat with a fence Constable found a creative way to comply. He erected the fence and then commissioned artist Hanif Wondir to paint a realistic image of the boat on the fence now blocking the view of the boat.
