Powernapper’s Paradise

This film challenges the Western world's notion of productivity.

  1. I so identify with these people. I can fall asleep in any position where I can relax and not fall any lower. Even if it's only for five minutes, I often remember dreams. My schoolfriend Randy's father used to get home from work and fall asleep sitting on the fireplace-step with his head up, not resting against anything, with his hands folded in his lap. How did his head stay up? But it did. In college, in a night class, in the mid-late 1970s, I was so sleepy once that I went to the back of the room and stretched out on a folding table. The teacher woke me when everyone was gone and he needed to lock up. I said, "I'm sorry." He said, "That's nothing. I was teaching in the sixties."

    1. I have never been able to grab just a few moments of shuteye. Mr. Nag is the napper in this family.
