Perpetual stews can continue cooking for decades or longer, if properly maintained. Annie Rauwerda teamed up with her boyfriend David Shayne, 27, and friend Hajin Yoo, 23 — they call themselves the “three stew-ges” — to make their own perpetual stew. They started it on June 9, 2023 and kept it going for 60 days with contributions from many others. The event morphed from a casual potluck into a large-scale alimentary operation. They had stew parties, kept a stew log and made up corny stew puns. Sounds like fun. I enjoyed reading about it.
