The Japanese Paper Film Project

In the 1930s, several Japanese companies produced films made on paper (“kami firumu”) instead of celluloid. The Japanese Paper Film Project preserves the surviving movies and promotes scholarship about these films. See some clips on the project’s Twitter feed. (via Web Curios)

The Moth Toys have too many pointy parts for kids, adult toys I guess.

Architects, designers, and builders have a duty to protect even stupid people from accidentally getting hurt, like making sure a roller coaster stays on the tracks. However defeating the tiny number of people bent on suicide is impossible without spoiling it for everyone else. I don’t want to live in a padded room.
