Kodachrome Slides From the 60s Found In Abandoned Cabinet

Section of the BART Tube segment being constructed.

A mystery unfolded when a cabinet full of Kodachrome slides was discovered lying on the sidewalk in a San Francisco neighbourhood. The slides show San Francisco in the 1960s undergoing changes as the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system was built and the subway beneath Market Street was constructed.

Market Street under construction for the new BART and Metro subways, circa 1966.

I have a cardboard box 14" x 26" x 20" high almost full of 35mm slides my Uncle took, that I haven't had a chance to go through yet, (I've only had them 3 years). ;o)
They should be interesting as he had an interesting life. Drove from MA to AK and back every year from 1949 to 1955, went to CA and brought back if not the first, one of the first, truck campers in New England. Became a major Model-T ford parts collector/seller at major shows later in life.

  2. Make the time to look at them. I’m sure you’ll be glad you did.
