Indian Sign Talk (1893)


Indian Sign Talk is a book by Lewis Francis Hadley designed for teaching sign talking, a single silent language that he estimated was known by over 100,000 Native people.

    I think 100,000 is conservative, but may be correct after smallpox decimated the tribes.
