Painted Pigeons

Some Pigeons Are More Equal Than Others (2012) is a project by Julian Charrière and Julius von Bismarck that was exhibited in Copenhagen, Venice, and Berlin. Birds were captured in a special apparatus, sprayed with non-toxic paint and released where they stood out among the unpainted birds. The goal was to question our perceptions concerning the roles of art, institutions, and urban animals.
