This animated short, excerpted from Jacques Giraldeau's 1989 film Le Tableau Noir, takes a look at Vincent Van Gogh's masterwork. During his lifetime Vincent Van Gogh was so so poor he could not pay for his own art materials. A hundred years later his painting "The Irises" sold at a New York auction for $53.9 million.
