The Warde Project

These giant flowers in Jerusalem's Vallero Square bloom when pedestrians walk under them.

  1. It reminds me of the scene of Marilyn Monroe on the street grate. Flowers are plants' sex parts.

The billowing parachute-cloth giant Marilyn Monroe statue /Forever Marilyn/ was transported to various cities in the world on a tour; it's back in Palm Springs permanently now, despite protests by the sort of people who protest that sort of thing.

These ones are bright red, though, and self-inflate, so they're actually more like a baboon than like a flower or like Marilyn Monroe. A Martian-invasion three-eyed baboon fanny on a stalk-- and then another one, and some more coming along from down the street. Maybe that's part of the artistic statement.

  2. A three-eyed baboon fanny on a stalk. Now I can't see anything else.
