Les ruelles vertes de Montréal

I grew up in Montreal and as children we played in the alleys (ruelles). They were neither beautiful nor green but they were a place where we could run wild without worrying about car traffic. In recent years many of the alleys have been transformed into green spaces that improve the quality of life of the citizens. Montrealer Gilles Beaudry visited 443 green alleys in the city and posted photos of his favourites. He walked nearly 200km, took more than 3600 photos, and lost 10 pounds.

    When you terrorized the allies were they all paved(hard surface) or some dirt/gravel(softer surface)?

    They were gravel. A good place to share a cigarette that someone had snuck from their mum's pack.
