In May 1921 Greenwood was a prosperous community in Tulsa, Oklahoma known as 'America’s Black Wall Street'. Then, in less than 24 hours, hundreds of Greenwood residents were brutally killed, their homes and businesses wiped out by a mob of racists motivated by resentment toward the Black prosperity found in that community.
