The Real-Life Queen's Gambit

Before Queen's Gambit there was Nona Gaprindashvili, a chess player from Georgia who won the Women’s Georgian Chess Championship title in 1956, (followed by three more victories in 1959, 1960, and 1961). She went on to become the Women’s World Chess Champion five times. There were four women who made up Georgia’s legendary female chess druzhina. Gaprindashvili is the only one who is still participating in tournaments. The story of Georgia’s renowned female players is now the subject of the film, Glory to the Queen. Here is the trailer:
