When I take my mother to the Kaiser hospital in Santa Rosa (CA) for anything I always go down the hallway to the right, in the lab building, to see a giant painting of colorful window awnings that just jumps off the wall at you, like the rugs in the ones you show here. From in front of it it's clearly several feet deep. From next to it, looking along it, it's flat. It's the only painting that ever made me think if I were rich I'd buy that and put it in my house, or buy the artist a new car, or a refrigerator, or whatever he or she needs to keep painting.
