Victorian artificial arm c. 1850-1910:

This steel and brass prosthetic limb was probably made to replace an arm lost in warfare. It provides a good range of motion. The elbow joint can be moved by releasing a spring and the top joint of the wrist allows a degree of rotation and an up-and-down motion. The fingers can curl up and straighten out.
