Peek at Schrödinger's Cat Without Killing It Forever

Schrodinger constructed an experiment in which an imaginary cat is simultaneously dead and alive to demonstrate that simple misinterpretations of quantum theory can lead to  results which do not match the real world. (I admit that I don't really understand it). Now physicists may have found a way of sneaking a peek at Schrödinger's cat without permanently killing the (hypothetical) animal.
