London-based architect
Chris Hildrey has created a system to keep people facing homelessness in England from losing access to vital services by providing addresses belonging to some of the country's 500,000 empty houses. Once assigned, the
ProxyAddress stands in as a stable address, regardless of how often a user moves or where they need to stay. While it is not a substitute for permanent housing, the project assists people who are at their most vulnerable and was awarded the 2018 RIBA President's Medal for Research.
