Check out this little gem of an artefact. It’s a letter to W. E. B. Du Bois that he has annotated with handwritten instructions on how to pronounce his name. Thanks to our friends at the Du Bois Center in Great Barrington for showing us this! #dubois150 #dewboys #livinghistory pic.twitter.com/B20ZndnyKd— W.E.B. That's interesting. I grew up with a girl named Lanois and everyone pronounced it La Noise. It wasn't until the end of High School she told me it should be pronounced Len Waa.
