Spectacles have been a part of London history since Medieval times. The earliest spectacles found in London were made from bone and date back to 1430. To celebrate 600 years of spectacles in London, Tom Broughton, of London-based eyewear brand
Cubitts, and his team have manufactured a special pair of glasses created from six centuries of detritus found at the bottom of the Thames.
The objects used were diverse, everything from a WW1 bullet and a boar's tusk to “witch pots” that were once filled with pubic hair and urine and used to “ward off demons”
