Flatfish Camouflage Experiments

American ichthyologist and zoologist Francis Bertody Sumner challenged the camouflage ability of flounder for a 1911 paper in the Journal of Experimental Zoology. The flatfish were placed against bold backgrounds to see how well they adapted to them.
