'The Cheviot' set in 3D

Unique in the National Library of Scotland's collections is the set for The Cheviot, the Stag, and the Black, Black Oil. Designed by artist-dramatist John Byrne, the set comes in the form of a book three by four metres tall. Each opening reveals a different pop-up backdrop to the action in John McGrath's seminal play.



V&A Dundee will display the theatre set in the new museum when it opens on September 15.
