"The blood swept lands and seas of red, Where angels dare to tread ... "
Do you remember Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, the installation by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper? In 2014, 888,246 ceramic poppies were placed at the Tower of London as a dramatic commemoration of the centenary of the outbreak of World War I. Each poppy represented a serviceman killed in the war.
Afterwards the poppies were sold for £25 each to raise money for service charities. Where Are the Poppies Now maps where the 34,952 poppies ended up.
