Serious Things a Go Happen is an unofficial history of dancehall signs published by Hat & Beard Press. Collating signs from the 1980s through today, the publication dives into the poster archive of Maxine Walters, “the queen of Jamaican dancehall signs.”Walters has collected 4,000 street posters over the last 12 years and highlights one of Jamaica's most undervalued visual art forms.
