Rare colour slides of notable turn of the century homes and gardens

In the early 1900s, artist Frances Benjamin Johnston took over 1,000 photographs of America's finest gardens and homes as an advocate of the garden beautiful movement. Her collection of hand-tinted images was recently digitized and added to the Library of Congress's online database.
